TefalTefal is a world famous brand, and well known in the UK, that has innovated many cookware features, such as the non-stick frying pan, which they invented in 1954. Tefal continue to innovate, with features like the Thermo-Spot and ProMetal non-stick leading the way. A close collaboration with Jamie Oliver has helped to strengthen the brand, and as Jamie says 'The first set of pots and pans I ever owned were Tefal and they're still knocking about somewhere. That's how good they are! They could last longer than I will!'
Preference Pro combines stylish looks with premium performance. A multi layer non-stick coating reinforced with ultra hard minerals assures the most resistant non-stick. This makes it metal utensil safe and holds a lifetime guarantee.

Tefal came into being in 1954 when Marc Gregoire, an engineer and keen fisherman, pioneered a technique to allow PTFE (non-stick) to adhere to an aluminium surface. By acid etching the aluminium, the surface was made uneven, allowing the PTFE to adhere. This is the same technology that is used today. The company name is an amalgamation of Teflon and aluminium. Now sold in 120 countries, Tefal has become synonymous with non-stick cookware.
Not content to rest on its laurels, Tefal is always seeking new innovative and ingenious ideas for their product range. In 2000 the Thermo-Spot was released. This red dot in the centre of Tefal frying pans changes colour, to tell the user when the pan has reached the optimum temperature. It is this need to offer innovative solutions to the kitchenware market that has seen Tefal become a world leader, not only in the manufacture of non-stick cookware, but also electrical cooking appliances and pressure cookers.
A strong brand in its own right, Tefal further strengthened their brand values when they started a partnership with Jamie Oliver. This partnership has resulted in numerous cookware ranges, all created in conjunction with the famous chef. Built to a higher specification for a more demanding kitchen environment, these ranges are great for keen home cooks.
Not only is Tefal at the forefront of innovative kitchenware, the company is also aware of the importance of promoting responsibly manufactured goods. As a result, Tefal has signed the Global Compact, a UN initiative that relates to the idea that businesses and manufacturers can play a role in environmental concerns. Further to this, Tefal has ensured that all non-stick coatings are lead, cadmium and PFOA free, and that they are all fully recyclable.
