Making A Purchase
Buying from us could not be easier - just browse our store, and add any items that you wish to buy into the shopping cart. After you have finished your selection, click on 'Checkout' and you will be asked for a few details that we need to be able to complete the order. You can also call us to place an order. Please pay close attention to the Special Offers available, as you may have to add a product to the cart in order to qualify for a discount. In cases where there are two free offers available at different price points, the free offer discount will be applied to the first offer item added to the shopping cart. Removing all free offer items from the cart will reset the conditions and allow you to change to another free offer if required.

If you pay by the Debit/Credit Card option, your payment will be handled by Sage Pay and we will not charge your card for any item until it is ready to send. Card security is handled by Mastercard Securecode/Verified by Visa, if your issuer provides the service, though basic security checks are attempted on all transactions. See the Sage Pay Security Policy for more information. If you use the Paypal payment option, your account will be charged as soon as you confirm your payment and transactions are covered by the Paypal Purchase Protection. If paying by cheque, we will not send your order until the cheque has cleared.

All the prices quoted on the product pages are in pounds sterling and include VAT at 17.5%. When viewing your order in the shopping cart, tax is displayed separately. Customers from outside of the E.U. will have the tax deducted from their order.

In the case of a product or price change after an order has been placed, we contact the customer and offer the opportunity to cancel the order.

Knives are only for sale to persons aged 18 and over. By placing an order for any knife, you declare that you are 18 years of age or over. Knives must be used responsibly and appropriately.

Shipping And Handling
Our standard delivery charge for mainland UK (Great Britain, including Isle of Skye and Isle of Wight) is £4.75 per order, and FREE if you spend £50 or more! See our Delivery Information page for full information and charges to other locations. Contributing towards the cost of packing and sending the goods enables us to keep the price for each item as low as possible - usually, when other companies offer 'free' delivery, the delivery charge is built into each item so that you do pay for delivery, and, if you buy more than one item, you could end up paying a delivery charge several times over.

For delivery charges off the mainland, and for countries outside the U.K., place your order as normal and you will receive an automated response from the website. We will contact you afterwards with the cost of sending the goods to enable you to agree (or not) to the additional charge before we send them and before your card is debited. We use Parcelforce (and their partners) for these deliveries, and due to the large quantity of goods we send abroad, we have been able to negotiate special prices, which means the transport costs are far lower than any other carrier we can find.
Delivery Schedule
Deliveries require a signature, so please ensure that you are available to receive the delivery or have left specific alternative delivery instructions when placing your order. eg: leave in shed, leave next door.

Upon receipt of goods, please endorse the Parcelforce delivery note with both your signature and the time of delivery.

If you find that your goods have been damaged in transit, or part of your shipment is missing, please tell us immediately upon receipt of goods quoting your order number. Undelivered parcels must be reported to us within 10 working days.

Email us via the 'Contact Us' link on the site or telephone 01877 33 99 00.

We will either refund the original amount paid or send a replacement, whichever is prefered.
Back Orders
If your item is not in stock, we will back order for you. You will always be emailed with the option to cancel your order if you would rather not wait.
Tax Charges
For orders made from the UK or the European Union, 17.5% VAT is added. All other orders are VAT free.
Please note that the VAT rate changed to 15% on Monday 1st December 2008 and reverted to 17.5% on Friday 1st January 2010.
Credit Card Security
If you are paying by credit/debit card through SagePay or Paypal, you will be transferred to their website to enter your details. This ensures full card security, as we are never in possession of your full card details - only your chosen payment provider has the details, which helps to prevent fraud.
Guarantee
We guarantee your satisfaction. All of our products come with a 30 day no quibble guarantee.

Email 'Friend and Family', 'Competition' and 'Newsletter' FAQ
Q: How do the services work?
A: The e-mail friends and family facility allows you to email product links to other people. Enter your name and the email address of the person you want to send the product link to, and our website will send them an email with a link to that product page. The email contains your name as a way of identifying the email and making it less likely to be discarded, though this may not prevent it being blocked by a spam filter. These email addresses are not collected or passed on to third parties. Our newsletter is part of our enhanced service, which we send to all customers' email addresses, plus those collected on the newsletter page, as well as our prize draw entrants. Newsletters contain a link to unsubscribe from the list, or an email can be sent to unsubscribe@pots-and-pans.co.uk from the email address that received the newsletter. Again, these addresses will not be passed to a third party.

Q: What do we do with this information?
A: The details you provide will not be used for any purpose other than delivering the appropriate information to the intended recipient. We ask for your name as a way to identify the email when sending the 'Email a friend' link to the recipent, so that they are less likely to reject it as spam. We do not use the details to send e-mails other than product links and newsletters, and we will not sell details to third parties that may send unsolicited emails.

Please call 01877 33 99 00 if you have any other queries about our privacy policy.
Returns Policy
The customer may cancel the goods ordered at any time and in addition may return any goods within 7 working days of receipt and we will refund the full amount of the goods, not the delivery and/or collection costs, as soon as the goods are received back in our premises, providing the goods are in their original packaging and have not been used. If customers are arranging their own return we strongly advise they are sent by insured recorded delivery, e.g. parcel post with compensation.

Your rights to return goods are protected under the EU Distance Selling Directive which can be found at http://www.hmso.gov.uk/si/si2000/20002334.htm

Recycling & Disposal
What is WEEE (Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment)?
From 1 July 2007, all retailers of electrical goods must comply with the Waste Electrical and Electronic Equipment (WEEE) legislation. This is a scheme to prevent all such waste being disposed of in general landfill sites and to promote recycling of components and materials. The legislation aims to minimise the impact of electrical and electronic equipment on the environment by creating products with recycling in mind and encouraging reuse, recycling, and recovery of WEEE.

How do I know what product is on WEEE scheme?

The definition of a WEEE product is one whose primary function is dependent on electrical currents to carry out the main function, e.g. a toaster.

Goods are marked with this symbol to show that they were produced after 13th August 2005, and should be disposed of separately from normal household waste.

How do I return my old electrical product?
A Take Back Service operates within our stores, whether you purchase in store or online. When you purchase a new electrical item from us you can exchange an old similar item (eg, a toaster for a toaster).

You have 28 days from date of purchase to return the old item to us free of charge. Please contact us for advice on the best method for returning your old item. You may also take the item(s) to your local authority Civic Amenity Site if this is more convenient.

Age Verification

We take active measures to ensure that all customers purchasing knives are of legal age in the UK (18 years old).
By placing an order for a knife on this website you are giving permission for an identity check to be performed to confirm that you are over 18 years of age. In a small number of cases the checks that we carry out are not able to verify the age of some customers. If this applies to you we will contact you for further information to confirm you are at least 18 years old. If you are not purchasing a knife then an identity check will not be carried out.

We try to offer the lowest prices available - if you find it cheaper, let us know and we'll try and price match!
